Depot America Incorporates Suspension Packaging

Farmingdale, NJ, Aug 06, 2004 - Depot America Inc, a market-leading provider of printer parts and service solutions announces the inclusion of suspension packaging for all boards, and smaller subassemblies.

Suspended packaging incorporates an outer cardboard box and a cardboard inlay with a polyfilm strip. The design of the cardboard boxes absorbs impact while tension placed on the polyfilm strip causes the part to stay in place during shipping.

“The goal behind suspension packaging is to provide a cleaner presentation upon delivery and to reduce damage during shipping. Boards and smaller subassemblies have a higher probability rate for damage while in transit; with the incorporation of suspension packaging we expect to have virtually 100% delivery success,” says Chris Sinibaldi, Manager of Quality and R&D.

“While this packaging does mirror the OEM, we have also created our own custom designed suspension packaging that has past vigorous packaged-product integrity tests,” adds Sinibaldi.

Depot America expects the transition of suspension packaging for all boards and smaller subassemblies to begin within 90 days and completion three months following. Upon full integration, there will be six packaging designs that will accommodate over 200 parts.
